Theory: Trapinch's line's modern appearence is the result of isolation among deserts inhabited almost entirely by Bug types. Before that time, it was more reptilian. Vibrava was more of a transitionary state, similar to Pupitar and Shellgon, and would store energy as its body prepared for evolution. Flygon was a top predator in its domain, and built much like a raptor.
